Terms of service.
Acceptance
By installing or using the Booth app or website, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please uninstall the app and stop using the site.
What Booth is
Booth is a photo booth application for personal, non-commercial use. It lets you capture short photo sessions and save them as printable strip images on your own device.
Your account, your data
There is no account. There is no login. Photos, strips, captions, and preferences are stored entirely on your device. We do not have copies. Deletion is up to you.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Booth to:
- Capture photos of any person who has not given consent, including minors (where consent of a parent or guardian is required).
- Harass, stalk, intimidate, or impersonate anyone.
- Record images in places where photography is restricted by law (changing rooms, bathrooms, classified facilities, courtrooms, some places of worship, etc.).
- Create content depicting minors in any sexualized way. We take a zero-tolerance stance on CSAM.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the binary distributions, except where local law expressly permits.
- Use the app's branding, name, or assets in a way that suggests endorsement of another product without written permission.
Your content
You own every photo you take with Booth. We claim no license, no ownership, no usage rights over your captures. They never leave your device, so we couldn't use them even if we wanted to.
You are responsible for whatever you do with the strips you export — printing, sharing, posting. The same legal rules that apply to other photos you take with your phone apply here.
App availability
We try to keep the web app and mobile app working, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted availability. Features may change, be added, or be removed over time. If a change materially reduces functionality in a paid version (currently there is none), we'll give notice.
Third-party services
The mobile app uses operating-system services (camera, photo library, haptics, audio playback) provided by Apple and Google. The web app uses your browser's MediaDevices API. Their respective terms and privacy policies apply to those layers.
The app does not embed any third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.
Open source notices
Booth uses open-source software including React, Expo, React Native, Reanimated, Skia, and others, each under its own license. We are grateful to those projects.
Disclaimer of warranties
Booth is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Booth or its operators be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, photos, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the app.
Termination
You can stop using Booth at any time by uninstalling the app or closing the web tab. We may suspend or terminate access to the app or service if a user is found to be violating these Terms, but since there is no account system, this typically just means a future update may decline to launch.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest version. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the operator of Booth is located, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in that jurisdiction's courts, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
